Twegather - How To

Create events right from Twitter!

In addition to creating events from twegather.com, you can create events right from the comfort of your favorite Twitter client. Here's how:

First, make sure you're following @twegather. Our two bots @twegather and @whowantstogo will follow you right back, promise! Now you're ready to go...

Step 1. Create your event right from Twitter by sending a direct message to @whowantstogo like this:

d whowantstogo to See a Movie at the Bytowne Cinema? tomorrow at 6pm

Don't by shy, clicking the link above will only copy this tweet to your Twitter page.

"But I don't want to go see a movie tomorrow" you say? No problem, go a head and change it to whatever you want - the Twegather "bot" is very smart.

When you're ready, click the Update button on your Twitter page.

Give it a try, we'll wait...

Step 2. Tell your followers

After about 10 seconds @twegather will send you a direct message back to your Twitter account like this.

Why don't you go check if it's there yet?

Now follow that bit.ly link to your event page where you can edit the details of your event, add a link, change the hastag etc.

When you're happy with your event page, click on the link called Tweet this event

That will take you to twitter, with a tweet in your status bar "locked and loaded" and ready to go:

See a Movie Nov 23, 18:00 at the Bytowne Cinema? Reply: @twegather #SeeAMovie http://bit.ly/abc123 Yes/No/Maybe

You can edit this tweet to your heart's content, just make sure that you mention that hashtag and the bit.ly link.

Ready to go? Awesome! Click on the Update button on your Twitter page.

Step 3. Discover who's coming

Alright, you've told your friends about your event. Now what?

Simple. Your followers simply reply to @twegather with their response and you just sit back and wait for the replies to roll in.

@twegather #SeeAMovie http://bit.ly/8nZwr3 Yes, I can't wait!'

Click on the bit.ly url for your event to see who's coming, who isn’t sure just yet and who is not planning on attending. You can also continue edit the details of the event as things firm up.

No one coming to your event? Don't forget to give your followers a reminder every now and then with the Tweet this event button.
